Most of us spend our lives waiting to live.
I go to school so that I can have a career with a decent salary, and I save that salary so that I can afford tropical vacations for seven days once a year - if I'm one of the lucky ones. We all dream of a world with no money, a day when you can wake up and do as you please and hop on a plane for five dollars and take photographs of exotic locations and learn to surf, to swim, to ride a horse or say "Hello" in a foreign tongue.
The Goodwins did exactly what so many of us yearn to do; they abandoned capitalistic society, rejected consumerism, traded cars and big houses and haute couture for a life of simplicity. Chose to live off of the land, connect with nature, find freedom in the sun, the ocean, in travel and in culture.
